As part of our company mission, Viridian has chosen to exceed the green energy requirements in each state in which we operate. Each state mandates that every licensed electricity supplier obtain a percentage of its electricity load from renewable sources. The electricity you get through Viridian’s Everyday Green plan is 20% green, while most of our competitors merely meet the minimum state benchmark.
Simply by switching, the average residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt hours per month will reduce his or her carbon emissions by more than 1500 pounds which is the equivalent of planting about 100 trees or of about 2000 miles not driven. The choice is clear. For those wanting to do more, Viridian offers customers the opportunity to go 100% green through our Pure Green rate plan,

What does Viridian’s Rate Include?
Viridian’s rate is considered “all-in” which means it includes all components of electricity supply (energy, generation capacity and transmission) plus sales tax. The sales tax will show as a separate line item below the supply charges portion of the bill.

Everyday Green & New York RPS
Because there is no set standard for Viridian to use, the 20% renewable component to our Everyday Green product will be entirely voluntary, meaning that every customer will make a significant incremental impact by switching to Viridian.
Energy Choice in New York
In New York, third party suppliers are called “ESCOs”, which stands for Energy Service Companies. Utility Companies in New York encourage customers to compare prices and shop for energy to promote a competitive energy market.
Customers can also read about their ESCO options on SCO poweryourway.com or on the New York State Public Service Commission ESCO webpage.
Budget Billing (Level Payment Plan)
Customers on the Level Payment Plan (LPP) are eligible to enroll with Viridian. The customer’s monthly budgeted amount will remain the same after they switch to Viridian until the utility “trues-up” the customer’s billing on their quarterly reconciliation date. They will then issue the customer a credit for their Viridian savings and will also decide if the customer’s monthly budgeted supply amount should change. Customers should always direct all questions about budget billing to Con Edison.

About choosing a supplier:
Many states have instituted energy deregulation, and because of this, each of us may now choose our energy supplier. Your utility company will still deliver your electricity and service your lines, so, in the event of an outage you will still call your utility company. Also, you will continue to receive just one bill from your utility and pay your bill to the utility just like you always have.
About Viridian Energy:
