Any great organization begins with great vision. For Viridian Energy, Michael Fallquist is the visionary force at the helm that drives all the company does. As founder and CEO of Viridian, Michael has combined his expertise in many industries to create a business with real impact for those it serves. His keen business mind, creativity and capacity for leadership have enabled him to create and sustain a powerful business model.
Michael quickly gains the respect of all he works with, including employees, customers and Associates, who value his expertise and his leadership ability. More than a visionary leader, his true passion is found at home where Michael enjoys every moment with his beautiful wife and busier-than-ever toddler.
Michael's previous professional background includes working in consulting, banking and commodities industries. He most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer of Commerce Energy, a publicly listed natural gas and electricity retailer serving more than 150,000 customers in 10 states. He oversaw the day-to-day business activities for Commerce, which included oversight of Sales & Marketing, Operations, Energy Supply, Pricing, and Human Resources.
Previously, Michael worked for the Macquarie Group in Australia and the U.S. in various commodity roles, and as a management consultant for Towers Perrin and Deloitte Consulting on projects across the U.S. and Asia.
Michael consistently seeks ways to create innovative and powerful solutions that add real value - for customers, for Associates, for employees and for the communities the company touches.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Colgate University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Cornell University.
